[Savannah-hackers-public] git accumulations on vcs

There are many hundreds of git processes happily chugging away on vcs,
going back to October.  This can't be right?

Unfortunately it seems the
 timeout 120m
method for limiting I suggested isn't effective, since there are
hundreds of timeout processes still running too, and it's been a lot
longer than 120 minutes.  Hmm.

I'm not sure if it's best to just blast them away, but I will if there's
nothing else to do.
