Follow-up Comment #1, task #11817 (project administration):

I've encountered the same bug. Note that a double backslash somewhere in a bug
report results in a single backslash in the bug update email whereas a single
backslash is removed entirely. Backslashes in the email's subject line,
however, are not affected by this. Also a sequence like "n" doesn't result in
a line break in the email but rather in an "n" without a leading backslash.

Additionally, what does seem to happen whenever the status flags of a bug are
changed (priority, status, dependencies, item group, etc.) is that the update
email also claims that the bug's summary has been changed to one without
backslashes when it actually wasn't modified.

As for Vincent's report, I guess you meant that the two characters in the
email were back_quote_ and simple-quote, not back_slash_ and simple-quote,
right?
