Hi Stefan,
I've just created the emacs-elpa-diffs mailing list for commits to the
`elpa' branch in Emacs's repository, but now I'm wondering how to
configure that list so that it's closed to postings other than commit
messages.
Or does it even matter?
It doesn't matter. The only way a non-commit msg would get through is
if someone who had previously made a commit (that got through to the
list) wrongly sent a non-commit msg to the commit list. Such mistakes
can happen occasionally, but it's not worth worrying about that I've
ever seen.
And anyway, there is no feasible way to detect commit msgs. So the only
alternative would be to moderate *every* incoming msg. That's not
feasible either. Best to just let it be, in my experience.
How is the emacs-diffs list configured?
As above, that is, in the normal way.
