Well, it is safe when unpacked, just not as efficient :) As far as I
could see a minimal bookkeeping is necessary.

I try to place myself in a situation where there are 2500 projects,
and I don't think SV will like to cron on them all - especially when
most projects are not necessarily active. I prefer running things at
commit time when possible. But indeed the cron job is an option.
