[RP] meta not working

Is it only me, or doesn't the meta command work with a xterm?
nothing seems to end up in the xterm...
what the hell is going on?  i can send a ^T with a translation (binding
another key to string(0x14), but the meta command doesn't work!

please tell me how to fix this,
