According to this manual (http://brezular.wordpress.com/2012/02/12/installation-solaris-sparc-2-6-sunos-5-6-on-qemu-part-1-qemu-installation/) it is possible to install a solaris sparc guest on a qemu x86 host.
I have downloaded the bios files and other prerequisites. However I get an error regarding the cpu type
$ /usr/local/bin/qemu-system-sparc64 -bios /usr/local/share/qemu/ss20_v2.25_rom -M SS-20 -nographic -boot d -hda solaris.10G.disk -m 512 -cdrom sol-11_1-text-sparc.iso
Supported machines are:
sun4u Sun4u platform
(default)
sun4v Sun4v platform
Niagara Sun4v platform, Niagara
none empty machine
Which option defines such supported machine?
