Hello All,

I am an aspiring technical writer and was introduced to this list through Karl Barry and John Darrington.  I hope to help with documentation on the PSPP project.  I am new to volunteer projects like this, so feel free to forward any suggestions for ways to be productive in my participation.

Here is a brief synopsis about me:
I am a mid-career professional trying to redirect my career into technical writing.  I am a strong writer, though it has never been a job title for me.  I have educational background in environmental science and computer information systems, so I have the capacity to understand technical concepts readily.  I am not, however, a programmer or developer.

I was an operations manager in a software security company and managed four developers.  I spent about one year in help desk support.  I have also written an in-house user manual for field salespeople.  The manual contained detailed information about their laptops, cameras, and connectivity from a distance.  I also maintained the technical content (feature explanations, bug explanations, and FAQs) on two websites.

I took two statistics courses for my undergraduate degree, but have not gotten to use any of that knowledge in my work since then.  I think that probably means I am rusty, but can get back in the groove after a bit.

I hope this gives you a reasonable amount of information about me.  Please let me know if you have questions.  Please also let me know what I can do to help participate in this project.

Thanks.  Looking forward to working with you.
Angela
