On further investigation this end, it seems that very strange things
are indeed happening in this scenario.  Not least of which is that the
correct value should indeed be 0.923 and  --- and I'm not getting it.

Evendently I have been very careless when I wrote this test.  I'll try
and throw some more light upon the matter.
