There's also a XBee product working @ 900MHz with power
levels similar to those of 2.4 GHz version (PRO also).
Outside Paparazzi project I've been using a 2. 4GHz XBee
PRO based telemetry system togheter with 2.4GHz Futaba
6-7channel R/C
control link without interference problems (to control and monitor an helicopter uav).
For the video transmission we use commercial low cost transmitters in 1.1 - 1.5GHz frequencies range
(of course)
with good results the only issue is to find a proper
antenna solution (compact one for the airborne section).
Up-to now we're going to evaluate a MicroHard
modem solution (pretty similar to the one
used on Micropilot UAV)
that should fullfill (right on papers now) every needs
but of course it's not a low-cost one.

Subject: [Paparazzi-devel] 868 xbee modems I´ve read this post: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/paparazzi-devel/2009-05/msg00088.html And that the diydrones post about the 868mhz modems too. I understand that there are lost of porblems with the uplink of the 868mhz xbee modem bevause the 10% duty cycle, isn´t it? Anybody solve it? I´ve read that solution: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/paparazzi-devel/2009-05/msg00087.html How it works? Because I want to use a 2,4ghz rc system, and I think that the better way is to use a 868mhz modems, and a 1,2ghz of video. Thanks for all. Jesús
