All,

I may need some help. I have received the board and found the following:
1) The 1.5k RES (R20) was damaged. I replaced it and USB worked  
(before I confirmed it didn't work). It was a lucky guess to replace  
it but I wanted to try and easy fix first
2) The GPS did not respond in GCS. I checked the voltage at the Tx/Rx  
and VCC and all 3 were 5v. This wasn't supposed to be the case. So I  
checked the voltage at IC3 the LM3940 and the 3.3v pin was 5v.
I will hope the GPS (LEA-5H) which is supposed to be 5v tolerant  
survives but I need to fix this issue with the 3.3v rail being 5v. I  
tested the voltage at IRH and IRV where I know the middle pin is 3.3v  
and it was 5v as well.
I loaded USB, the tunnel, flashed the GPS code etc and verified it in  
GCS ( I check the GPS messages). What I really need is some ideas to  
repair the board (I am out of Tiny2.11) and how to suggest to Zico  
ways to avoid this. I'm not saying he did it but something caused it  
so I'd like to avoid it happening again. I checked the pins on the  
PTH_08080W and they were source voltage, 5v and 2.9v so I think it's ok.

Any help appreciated so I can get this repaired and back to Zico.
