You will need only one ground modem and the airborn modems configured with the API mode (for xbee modems) : http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Airframe_Configuration#Configuring_The_Maxstream_API_Protocol

The speed of the ground modem should be 57600 and the airborn modems can be set to 9600 or 57600. I have done a 3 UAV formation flight with the xbees set to 57600. If you want to add more aircraft, be aware that the positions are forwarded by the ground station, which can be a problem with too many planes.

Dear all,
         I have got my formation simulation flight work as many as 5 UAVs, and I turn my focus to the real flight. The only problem right now is when I set up my multi-uav sessions, besides the regular program block, such as " server", "message","GCS" and so on, I think I need to set up two portions of Datalinks, one for each plane, am I right? and for the Baud rate, I read some paper before, which says, the Ground modem should be set as 57600, and the plane modem should be around 9600, is there a reason for that? And if I have more than two planes, for example, 5, do I need to just  make sure the sum of the planes' Baud rate is smaller than the Ground one? Thanks for the help in advance!
