A 1.6 GHz Atom is plenty fast enough to run the GCS. Most netbooks come with a "customized" linux distro on them, so you may need to replace that with Ubuntu. There are some great tutorials on how to do this for quite a few netbooks out there.

I know my wife's EEE performs just great with the software, though it is a tad too small for my likings.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself if that's okay. I'm Spencer from Taipei, Taiwan. I'm originally from Detroit, MI but have been living in Asia for a while now. I work in Marketing for a networking vendor...but I found Paparazzi and have been very interested in this cool project. I don't know that much about the hardware, software, Linux, Debian, etc. But I'm hoping that if I can use Paparazzi it will help me dig deeper into these areas. Has anyone ever tried to run Paparazzi on a netbook? If I can get one w/ a Linux OS I'd like to use that as my ground control center. They're small and easy to carry but I'm not sure if a 1.6 GHz processor is fast enough.
