Hi Pascal,
Thanks for the tips. I got the laptop, and downloaded Ubuntu 7.1
for 64 bit processors. My laptop is a Copmaq Presario 3611AU, here
are the specs:
AMD Athlon 64 1.8Ghz
14.1" Widescreen 1280*800
120GB HDD, 1.5GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 7150m graphics card with shared memory
When I boot from the Ubuntu 7.1 LiveCD/Installer, everything works
fine ( I select install, the 1st option on the menu ), and then it
says that the graphics card and monitor were not detected, and that
it's running in low res mode. If I select ignore problem and
continue, the laptop freezes, and sometimes it just keeps giving
the bcm43xx error again and again. Nothing happens when I select
the graphics driver for nVidia 7 series card too. Anyone
experienced these problems? I googled, and get a lots of hits, but
nothing conclusive yet...
Thanks in advance,
Uttam
