Gentlemen,
We have been making real good progress. I am getting a little anxious as the weather improves and the field season approaches. I haven't talked about the airframe much, but I am working on a aerosonde look alike, scaled down and made of depron. It is coming along. I have other airframes ready, including one that we use for photography work now. We are about 80 percent done with the "Tiny" board and while I am not doing the soldering, the people who are confirm for me that it is indeed TINY!!! We have begun testing the board and ran into some trouble with the voltage regulator components. I am not sure what is going on there, but I am taking the board to some people at our engineering school to see if they can help. I am not too worried about that at this point. I have loaded full blown Debian on both a desktop and a laptop, dedicated systems. That went just about like I expected. The laptop was the real challenge, but now I am the new Linux expert! I think I will try to hire someone to serve in that capacity as soon as possible! I have gotten the -edit feature to work with gcs (thanks Jeremy!) and have created a flight plan for some local geography, not that I wouldn't mind a trip to Teulouse. I did notice that when I make the change in the conf/control_panel.xml file that some features in the simulation are not available. I have been switching between the original file and the edited file when I want to work on flight plans.
My question for today is how do I test my new flight plan using the simulation utility. I was thinking of ways I could fool the system, but I thought that maybe you might have an answer. I am a little fussy about how to actually test the hardware using the simulation utility. If I could just see how you guys set this up once I am sure it would all make sense, but I would be guessing at this point unless you have a how to or users manual sitting around that spells out these details. Anyway, I am having fun and people are getting excited about the potential.
