Matt, $5 is not a bad price for the antennas. Frequencies other than 1580 MHz may also require a substantial minimum order, I'm not sure. There is a similar 18mm x 4mm 1580 MHz antenna made by Sangshin available for $5 from rfmw.com in California. I have both types of antennas on hand and will post info on the wiki once they're properly evaluated. Jeremy
Jeremy, I promised I would start using the e-mail list a bit more for the benefit of the group so here goes. I called Transplant GPS today and spoke to Cathy. I asked for Steve and she said "can I ask why you are calling first?". I said I was told to talk to Steve and she said "why?" so I had to explain I am looking for antennas and she quoted me $5.05 USD each now lol. She explained that they have the sample kits and the ANA1580T18D40 in stock ONLY so any off frequency part has a 30 day lead time, plus you pay the shipping from "China", or wherever their assembly plant is. This is what she quoted me for quantities. 0 5.05 USD 100 2.55 USD 1000 1.75 USD Again, this is what she has "officially" quoted me, even with "projections" of 1000 units. If you have a trick, or if you can get Steve to call me :) Regards, Matthew Currie |
