The hard limit on the number of active connections is a deliberate
choice, in order to be 'net-friendly'. It is relevant to the "Good Net
Keeping Seal of Approval" of which Pan is a recipient.

It now appears that I only need to edit ~/.pan2/servers.xml and Pan will honor that setting. However having 20 open connections affects performance, as you can imagine.

No need to hack the source, you can disregard my last.
