That's me out the loop for a while then, I'm unable to

reboot, as I'm working in a chroot, and   I can't afford to

take the server down quite yet.   Unless I can get UML

working.  I'll try on a differnt machine with identical

setup soon, and let you know.

Then it means that syslog is not correctly configured. You

have to redirect the log facility somewhere ... I really

need those debug information to help you.
