This is a feature and bugfix release. The most important change in this release is the refactoring of event engine, which allows to send alert and/or do optional action in the case that the monitored service recovered from the failed state.

For example, you can use this feature to send SNMP trap in the case that the service is up again (via snmptrap exec) in addition to failed state related action (for example SNMP trap as well) which was supported in previous releases. The action is optional - monit will send alert notification about any service state change by default.

This release also includes a few important bug fixes; there was a deadlock possibility in the old event engine; status report of monitored remote host service type was broken in the case that only ICMP test was defined (thanks to Peter Holdaway for reporting the problem); the parser was updated to ignore Carriage Return ('\r') characters in monit control file.

Please visit our web pages for more information and documentation and
to hear sound clips of the monit working dog.

Finally, a big thanks to ALL who have contributed work and time to
create this release :)
