Hi Jochen,

For your PDF needs you can try to use MapOSMatic
(http://www.maposmatic.org), where you can set a boundary box and
create map in multiple formats, including PDF. MapOSMatic now has also
daily updates. If you need more regular ones, or If you lack something
you want from MOSM, you can write to maposmatic-dev list, which I
attached in CC here. Please don't hesitate to inform us what else you
need.
