At this point I'm not really willing to make changes to the code just to
clean up warnings, unless they're very simple, very obvious, and very
portable.  I really, really want to get this release done.  There'll be
lots of time for code cleanups, etc. after that.

If you find actual bugs, great... if it's just a warning but the code is
correct/works correctly, then hang onto it for the next release.
