Lynx is an interactive program, and probably cannot beused in this

to do what I appears you are trying to do:
%>lynx http://www.cnn.com
[p]
choose "Save to local file"
change the filename to "cnn.txt"[enter]
[Q] <- quits lynx unconditionally
