LYNX-DEV lynx-dev list status/problems |

To the list maintainer (mostly):
IF AND ONLY IF this message gets accepted by lynx-dev, I have
apparently figured out why my previous messages were rejected.
Apparently I am subscribed as "address@hidden".
This message should have "From: Klaus Weide <address@hidden>".
My previous messages, which did not go through for at least a week, had
headers "From: Klaus Weide <address@hidden>".
I did not get any rejection notices for dropped messages.
Apparently the status (policy) of the mailing list has changed without a
definite announcement. (I found some hints of a change in messages
etc., but they seemed to be based on speculation or observation.
So I assumed a technical problem.)
If it is true that the policy for accepting messages has changed
- on purpose, to avoid spam and other abuse:
Please consider changing back to the old behavior.
There has not been sufficient agreement on the list for this
change.
(If there are technical reasons, please explain them.)
- If reverting to the old behavior is rejected,
let messages from non-subscribers at least generate some sort
of automatic response.
- by mistake:
Please correct the problem.
[ I shall try to resubscribe if I see this message go through now. ]
Klaus
