I finally had some time to try Lynx 2.7.1 AC 0.20, released by Wayne
Buttles on May 5. I wonder if this problem is in other AC 0.20
versions as well.
Try the "Distance" selection from the main page of www.switchboard.com
and attempt to select a category of businesses from the option list,
or states, for that matter. In show_cursor mode, the cursor jumps to
a spot to the right of the default selection when you hit Enter on it,
but up and down arrows do not move the selection point, as far as I
can determine with a DOS screen reading program, looking for the
cursor and also for color changes. Hitting Enter a second time takes
you out of the option list, but you haven't had the ability to change
the option. I think I found this behavior in another web page with
option lists. Behavior with show_cursor turned off is similar. Check
box fields continue to work properly. I don't use "links are
numbered" mode, so don't know how those features are working.
I'm glad I didn't overwrite my copy of AC 0.6, because it doese these
things right.
I haven't succeeded in running mailto from either of these browsers,
but they are still very useful and fast for downloading and viewing
files.
