Follow-up Comment #10, task #7896 (project lwip):

It would be asynchronous zero-copy TX. And it already works if the assumption
holds that TCP retransmission is only done when TX is long over. At least it
works for me ;-)

Your last paragraph is correct though. And maybe letting TCP duplicate the
pbuf on retransmission could be a good idea as well to help zero-copy drivers.
