Follow-up Comment #2, patch #8687 (project lwip):
That's right, we'll need it. Although according to RFC all IPv6 interfaces
must support MLD6, we find that in some cases it's best to disable it for some
interfaces (e.g. PPP).
It should work the same as the IGMP flag.
Please remember that Master is a development branch.
