I thought I read somewhere that SMEMCPY was meant for a constant length and small length use so that a compiler (or user) could inline the call.
3 occurrences in socket.c, 1 in tcp_out.c, and 1 in ppp.c don’t meet above “rules” because the length isn’t constant.
