Hey
Installing linphone 3.9.0 from Arch Linux, and its various upgrade dependencies,
with KDE4 and pulseaudio, when no microphone is available, linphone hangs at
start-up, apparently waiting for a microphone. Plugging-in a microphone after
linphone has already started does not help.
Plugging-in a microphone and then starting linphone, linphone seems to start
normally.
This would seem to be "bad behavior", simply because the start-up fails
silently. Even "linphone --verbose" does not provide any informative message.
It would be much much better if there were at least some kind of error message
about a missing input device, and better if the linphone window opened normally,
and then showed a "missing input" error pop-up window.
Any thoughts?
James
