This time, I've used a different browser for downloading the archive in 
case Google Chrome were problematic.
I've used a different antivirus program in case the other one were 
problematic.
Still, even with this updated archive, when I don't add -dgui, no 
messages appear, and when I do, no log file is created (not even one of 
zero size).
Almost immediately after running lilypond.exe, I get "lilypond.exe has 
stopped working."
