Hello friends!

We don’t know exactly what the LibrePlanet 2021 conference is going to look like, but we do know that we want your organization to participate! Whether we stage an in-person conference, go online like we did this year, or combine the two, I wanted to make sure you heard that the Call for Sessions is open, and I hope you’ll apply or encourage your colleagues to do so. This year’s speaker lineup has the potential to be more robust and interesting than ever because even if the usual gathering in the Boston area takes place, we will consider remote talks, which means that even applicants who cannot travel here under any circumstance can submit a session proposal.

The conference is tentatively scheduled for spring 2021, in the greater Boston area, and the deadline for submitting a session is October 28, at 12:00 EDT (16:00 UTC). If you're interested in speaking and don't have any solid ideas on what to propose, check out last year's LibrePlanet program for some ideas.

Even if you don't have a topic that feels right this year: please make sure that your colleagues and friends in free software know that we want them to submit talks! I hope you'll share our call for sessions on your social media accounts. You can use the following text:

#LibrePlanet 2021: Empowering Users Call for Sessions is now open. Consider submitting a proposal for the Free Software Foundation's @fsf conference on technology and social justice. https://libreplanet.org/2021

I've attached an image that you can share as well. The more proposals we receive, the more options we have to create a truly memorable and inspiring conference!

Attendee registration will be opening soon, so if you don't intend to be at the front of the room, make sure to take your spot in the audience!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or contact our team at campaigns@fsf.org.

Apply to the Call for Sessions here

Cheers,
