Is there someone out there who can help me? Is my BIOS chip broken or could there be another reason?
I can provide more informations, whatever is needed to flash libreboot on my T400.

Hello all,

I followed all instructions on
http://libreboot.org/docs/install/bbb_setup.html#bbb_access
http://libreboot.org/docs/install/t400_external.html
including adding pins 1 and 9 to the 3.3 V power supply, but I ran into an error I can't resolve, even after triple-checking the instructions step by step, the chip is obviously not recognized:

address@hidden:~/libreboot_util/flashrom/armv7l# ./flashrom -p linux_spi:dev=/dev/spidev1.0,spispeed=512 -r factory.rom
flashrom v0.9.8-unknown on Linux 3.8.13-bone47 (armv7l)
flashrom is free software, get the source code at http://www.flashrom.org

Calibrating delay loop... OK.
Found Generic flash chip "unknown SPI chip (RDID)" (0 kB, SPI) on linux_spi.

This flash part has status NOT WORKING for operations: PROBE READ ERASE WRITE
The test status of this chip may have been updated in the latest development
version of flashrom. If you are running the latest development version,
please email a report to address@hidden if any of the above operations
work correctly for you with this flash chip. Please include the flashrom log
file for all operations you tested (see the man page for details), and mention
which mainboard or programmer you tested in the subject line.
Thanks for your help!
Read is not working on this chip. Aborting.

I don't have another Thinkpad that would work with libreboot, so I can't check with other hardware weather the chip is the problem. It still booted before I dissassembled the laptop, so it's unlikely.

Another question is how many amps do I need for the 3.3V power source for chip (I used an lab power supply which I bought just to flash this chip =)?

Help is much appreciated.
