Ok i changed the users shell to /bin/bash and it logs in though it seems i may need some extra binaries copied over

bash: groups: command not found
bash: dircolors: command not found

jk_lsh seems to also be missing from the chroot setup i dont see any file sbin/jk_lsh

Hi the sshd log level is INFO

This is the only log i get from jk_chroot

/var/log/auth.log:Dec 21 12:29:30 hostname jk_chrootsh[5127]: now
entering jail /var/chroot for user testuser (1004)

ahh very useful information. That means that you don't have logging in
the jail.

Did you configure syslog to listen on /var/chroot/dev/log ? Or do you
run jk_socketd for this purpose?
