There is /dev/null in jail, and it has the same permissions as on host.
Any hint?
can you post the following results?

ls -l <jail>/dev/
ls -l <jail>/

Sure thing:
address@hidden:/home/chrootusers/jeannie# ls -l dev/null
crw-r--r-- 1 666 root 1, 3 2006-11-14 11:02 dev/null
address@hidden:/home/chrootusers/jeannie# ls -l ./
total 2
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 872 2006-11-14 10:27 bin
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 168 2006-11-14 11:04 dev
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 488 2006-11-13 20:05 etc
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 72 2006-11-11 06:25 home
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 976 2006-11-13 20:05 lib
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 144 2006-11-13 15:16 usr

/home/chrootusers/jeannie is the jail root.

jailkit is 1.2 version, and system runs on ubuntu Edgy.

Cheers,
Nikola
