Checking installation status of packages

Hello,

I’ve been using stow for many years now.  Thanks a lot for this nice
little tool!  For a long time I’ve been wondering: shouldn’t there be
a way to check the installation status of packages in the current stow
directory?  Something like

$ stow --status
package_A installed
package_B installed
package_C partial
package_D uninstalled

I’m a bit puzzled, because I couldn’t find any discussion about anything
similar (on this list or elsewhere).

Am I overseeing anything?
