Hi,

I've used grub2 on a new install of Ubuntu 12.04 for about a month on a
new intel SSD 240Gb in a USB 2.0 chassis. I use different models of
older HP laptops like nc6400, 6730b, nx7400.

It's been acting up sometimes with the message "Error: Out of disk.
Press enter to continue" (this was in gfx mode). Pressing enter it just
booted. But now it won't boot anymore!
I just get either "error: out of disk. grub rescue>"
or
the grub prompt..

I put the disk in a computer as an internal disk and it sometimes acts
up there too. But mostly it works.

I've been using disks like this for the last 4 years and it has worked
most of the time. My last SSD crashed about a month ago after the same
behavior as I get now. I then used boot-repair which definately crashed
it. http://paste.ubuntu.com/1495041

Anybody who knows what the problem could be?

I'd love to be able to continue to run the disk in the usb chassis.
There must be a difference in how grub handles the disk when it's an
internal disk and when it's an external usb disk.

BR,
Ben
