Re: Help-grub Digest, Vol 45, Issue 15

I always, as first step, in any booting problem with a new / upgraded OS go into the box and lift out the CMOS chip and wait about 15 seconds and replace it and try to boot.  (You can't hurt anything as long as you have unplugged or taken the battery out of laptops as a safety percaution.)

Doing this will clear the MBR and other startup items before, again before, you actually get into the OS boot.

Disclaimer: Always back up important data before opening your box.

Thank you, very helpful and grammatically incorrect. Any other takers?
I've been using GNU/Linux exclusively for almost 10 years, but my
girlfriend is a professional photographer and uses Photoshop (and
hates Gimp), so sadly I have to dual-boot with Windows.

I figured I'd file this as a bug, but I thought maybe it's just a
mistake I made so I thought I'd ask you guys for help first.
