Hi :)

Don't worry it is not as bad as it sounds. Just reinstall grub2
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Reinstalling%20from%20LiveCD

Even if you did not have grub2 on your systemn before the "reinstall" should
fix
most possible problems.

Each hard-drive has just 1 MBR and the job of that MBR is only to point at
where
the boot-loader is. If you are only using Windows then the MBR 'should' only
point at where the Windows part of the hard-drive is. If you have a multi-boot
system then it is easier to have the MBR point at a recent grub, preferably a
grub2. By reinstalling grub2 it makes sure that the MBR (1st stage of the
boot)
points to the right grub2 which should find ALL the operating systems on your
machine.

The OEM software or Windows software might claim that the MBR is wrong somehow
but the important thing is to se3e whether you can boot into the various
Operating Systems you have.

Whatever Windows or the OEM (hewlett packard in this case) says dont worry. thy
assume that there is only Windows on your machine and will give strange
messages
when you have linux or Mac or anything else on your system The important thing
is being able to boot into which OS you want :)

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
