well, i also tried a grub legacy boot cd now:

theres an usb flash drive (1GB) connected to an usb port too.

(legacy 0.9x) you're doing it wrong.
Grub legacy addresses devices by dropping the partition identifier
entirely. (hd0) Partitions within the device start numbering at
zero, thus sda1 is (hd0,0).
