Do C-h f function RET and hit the 1.1 button.
Is that why it is called "Probably introduced"?
It just makes a search for the first time the name appears
in NEWS?
But, I see the `...' convention in that file, so why not
search for `function' instead? Then there won't be a hit.
(Yeah, how can that make sense? Search for X instead because
then there won't be a hit ...)
