Hi Bruno,

Thank you very much. As I suspected, your system has neither ghostscript nor 
the URW fonts 
installed, which is why the end of your file "log1" says:-

configure: The program 'gs' was not found in $PATH.

  Consequently, groff's PDF output driver, 'gropdf', will not work
  properly.  It will not be possible to prepare or install
  groff-generated documentation in PDF.

However, this should not halt the build, so I will commit the fix to line 335.

Many thanks for your help. Out of interest, please could you send me the result 
of "ls build/font/
devpdf".
