So I finally opted to draw the estimated error (epx, epy or eph 
and epy) instead of DOP. I found also how to circumvent a bug in 
librsvg 2.40, so now the generated SVG is displayed well, at 
least by Imagemagick's coders/svg.so and by librsvg2.

The long line mess remains, but the code is indeed horrible 
because it mixes logic and presentation in the worst mode 
possible, like old PHP style.

I attach this new version, hoping it can be useful.
