No, and thank to your email I have found why! I was using the QEMU version
included in Debian etch, which is the distribution I am using at my host PC;
such version is: qemu 0.8.2-4etch1
I have downloaded the qemu-0.9.1-i386.tar.gz binary distribution from
http://bellard.org/qemu/download.html
and now I get a prompt, and qemu is a lot quicker. Thank to your email I
will be able to improve my workflow.

About the 'Enter pass phrase', I do not get it due to I have replaced [1] the
Apache HTTPS certificate you were using with one which did not use passphase
when it was signed. So it does not prompt for such passphase. It works the
same but without asking for passphase, so one less thing which disturb us to
work.
