The short story is that the license was made this way so that _all_
users get the right to run, study, redistribute, and improve the
program.  Not just the first recipient, but also subsequent recipents.
That is, you can't deny my rights, nor can I deny yours.


Please stop confusing GNU with software licensed under the GNU GPL, or
the Lesser GPL.  They are not the same thing.  GNU is a operating
system, the GNU GPL and Lesser GPL are legal documents.
