Telephone interface init failed |

Hello fellow gnokii users,
I'm setting up a sms server on an old laptop with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I had an old Nokia 6020 around, and I bought the necessary data cable CA-42.
When I try to connect the phone with Gnokii 0.6.28 (I know), after about 30 secons it says:
"Telephone interface failed: Command timed out.
Quitting.
Command timed out.
Clearly the connection doesn't work. What's the reason for this? Only thing I can imagine is that the cable I'm using isn't an original one, but can that cause the problem?
Anyone who is using a non-original cable? Or what could be the reason I can't connect with me phone?
Thank you for all your help and thank you to the developers.
All the best.
Nicolas
