I humbly support your opinion! :-)
About the CVS packages, do you think they're stable enough for me to
upload them (selectively, of course) to Debian?
If you think it's a good idea, I can start doing it regularly, when
you deem CVS to be stable and usable.

Hi,
At 0.6.13 release Leo Costela requested removal of debian/ dir from
gnokii sources. After some thought and IRC discussions I'd like to
remove all over packaging directory.
Rationale: I don't think anyone builds packages using our scripts. And
nobody maintains them: it often turns out that new release cannot be
built with them. And also they seem not be portable. It's not possible
to have one debian/ dir for all Debian-based distros. Also from what I
can see Fedora, SUSE, PLD and other RPM-based distros also use
different specs.
Moreover the packages are mostly up to date in distros. Additionally
Matthias Jahn is doing great job preparing CVS builds with
Debian/Ubuntu packages. It would be cool if someone would do the same
with FC or SUSE.
Any cons?
I plan to do the next release before the end of the month. On 30th
August I go for rather long vacation to US. And I'd like to release
0.6.99 before that.
take care,
pkot
