[Gm2] gcc atomic builtins

Hi Gaius,

Is it possible to access the gcc atomic builtins:

If not, would that be feasible to add?

I'm trying to enable multithreading for our apps, and the threading
library I'm trying to port relies on a couple atomic ops.
