Hi John,
thanks for trying the build again - yes I had to modify gcc slightly -
so there is another patch to apply (gm2/patches/gcc/4.1.2/05.gaius_patch_gcc).
Alternatively you could download a combined tarball from:
http://floppsie.comp.glam.ac.uk/download/c/gcc-4.1.2+gm2-cvs-latest.tar.gz
