makes fonts like
https://github.com/source-foundry/Hack/blob/master/build/web/fonts/hack-bold-subset.woff
fail in FreeType – just to be sure: we are talking about WOFF and not
WOFF2. If I undo your change, the font gets accepted without
problems.
Please have a look!

PS: I compiled FreeType with 'make devel; make'.
