I am shocked to see that autohinter snaps stems when targeting LCD as if MONO, see http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/freetype/freetype2.git/tree/src/autofit/aflatin.c#n2563 .
This is totally against the white paper
https://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/truetypecleartype.aspx .

This is also against our documentation where we say that targeting LCD is NORMAL:
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/freetype/freetype2.git/tree/include/freetype/freetype.h#n2942 .

I was actually contemplating making LCD synonymous to LIGHT.

I suspect this bug is intentional to deal with color fringes without filtering. Oh well. What do you think?
