Good heavens, no! Such code *quickly* moves to various GNU/Linux
distributions as a patch to the FreeType sources.
To be serious, I have exactly the opposite point of view. People
should try the `restrictive' CVS version to find out which programs
cause problems, report those issues to the authors so that it can be
fixed in time before the next FreeType version appears.
