FreeType's type 1 hinter seems to have some bugs. The URW variant of
Zapf Dingbats, uzdr.pfb, is rendered extremely badly if type 1 hinting
is performed. On the other hand, autohinting produces quite fine
results. David, is there an easy fix?
I've mentioned this earlier already on this list but I got no reply...
